Dating from as far back as the 1200s the castle has very interesting history and many fascinating stories to tell. As well as being a stunning medieval castle rising dramatically above the celebrated garden, It houses a large collection of paintings, tapestries and sculptures, plus the largest collection of its type in the UK of far eastern treasures within the Clive Museum.
